The 3rd International Congress on Planted Forests

The 3rd International Congress on Planted Forests aims to investigate the contribution of planted forests to sustainable development in the context of global changes. Topics will include the sustainability of planted forests in the context of changing climates and the future role of planted forests in environmental protection and REDD+.

International Symposium: Socio-economic analyses of sustainable forest management

According to the non-legally binding instrument on all types of forests of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF), “Sustainable forest management as a dynamic and evolving concept aims to maintain and enhance the economic, social and environmental value of all types of forests, for the benefit of present and future generations.” This definition leads to take into account multifunctional forestry, on the one hand, changes, risks and uncertainties on the other hand. These two components will be developed in the Symposium.

A two day tour through Denmark and Sweden visiting oak sites.

Pick-up and part-time participation

The tour departs from Bregentved Monday evening. Pick-up can be arranged at any place near the route, including Copenhagen's airport, Odense, Kolding, Horsens, Malmö, Lund or Karlskrona. Any part-time participation is welcomed and you may join the tour at any stop. Depending on time available brief stops at other experiments may be included.

NordGen Forest Thematic day on regeneration quality

The topic is regeneration quality. What kind of seedlings should be produced, and what kind of treatments and silvicultural measures should we undertake in order to achieve a successful regeneration? Which criteria should we use to evaluate seedling quality?

NB: The main language will be Norwegian.
