Climate Change- are forest trees adaptive?

Facts & Reviews

A new study on NordGen talks about how forest trees have survived a series of climate change cycles in the past. The study implies that trees are robust and have an extensive adaptive potential to changing climate patterns. It further explores these mechanisms of adaptation .Such mechanisms are : selection of different phenotypes;  phenotypic plasticity in different environments; epigenetics and the environment’s influence on the expression of genes; and migration.

But is the combination of these abovementioned mechanisms sufficient to cope with future climatic changes?
